Obituary of Anna Mae Checkosky

In Loving Celebration and Memories Anna Mae Checkosky, aged 94, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2014. She was born February 10, 1920, in Syracuse, New York, to loving parents Mary Elizabeth (Mellen) Grethel and Fred Grethel. Anna Mae was a unique individual who was loved by everyone she met and she touched a great deal of lives. She worked hard throughout her life and was an exceptional and loving mother. Anna Mae is survived by her sister, Mary Leona (Grethel) McCarthy; her brother, Henry Grethel; her son, Stephen F Checkosky and her daughter, Sharon R Checkosky. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Nairi Checkosky Balian, Tomas Checkosky and Stephen Checkosky; six great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. Anna Mae requested that there would be no services or funeral. She wants everyone to remember the good times with a smile. She is now starting her new journey. The family wishes to thank the staff at Crouse Hospital and Loretto Cunningham 7th floor that cared for her with love and compassion.
