Obituary of Ferman MacKaig

Ferman "Mac" MacKaig, 89, of Camillus, New York, passed peacefully under the exceptionally good care of the VA on Thursday, March 7, 2013. Mac was a WW II Air Force veteran and earned his Master's degree in music at Syracuse University after the war. He taught music in the Jordan and Solvay school districts. He was a professional pianist and he loved golf and his family. Mac was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, the former Jane Patrick and his youngest son, J. Scott MacKaig. He is survived by his sons, David (MaryLou) MacKaig of Elbridge and Robert (Mary) MacKaig of Marcellus; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A family celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be given to the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Attention: Voluntary Services, 800 Irving Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13210.
