Charles Hayer Jr.

Obituary of Charles Earl Hayer Jr.

Charles Earl Hayer Jr., 48, of East Syracuse, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, with his loving family by his side. He was known for his kind heart, infectious sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family. Charles was a dedicated employee of Airport Lighting, where he was highly regarded by colleagues and friends alike.

Born into a household of strong faith, Charles was deeply rooted in his spirituality. He found solace in prayer and held firm to his beliefs, often sharing his message of God's favor, grace, hope, and love with those around him. His relationship with God was central to his being, and he approached life with a prayerful heart, finding comfort and guidance in the word of the divine.

Charles was a man of many talents, particularly gifted in music. From producing beats to rapping and singing, he had a natural flair for creativity. Although he played the piano for a time, his true passion lay in his ability to move hearts with his lyrical prowess and musical compositions. His humor was legendary, capable of filling a room with laughter and joy, yet beneath his comedic exterior lay a simple man of great depth and compassion.

Throughout his life, Charles cherished the bonds he shared with his family. His mother, Glorious Wallace, was his pillar of strength, offering him love, support, and endless prayers. His relationship with his sister Yulanda was one of profound closeness, with shared musical sessions and heartfelt conversations defining their connection. Charles was not just a brother to Yulanda but also her protector and confidant, their bond unbreakable even in the darkest of times.

However, the defining moment of Charles's life came with the birth of his youngest son, Issac. Determined to be the father he had always aspired to be, Charles embraced fatherhood with an unwavering commitment. He instilled in Issac values of integrity, perseverance, and the importance of laughter, laying the groundwork for a legacy of love and wisdom.

In addition to his beloved son Issac, Charles leaves behind a legacy of love and guidance to his children Rahdrez Javontaye Blount, KNysarae Riddick, and D’Merica Hayer, as well as his grandchildren. His influence extended beyond his immediate family, as he served as a father figure to his niece and nephews, imparting valuable life lessons and instilling in them the importance of family and faith.

Charles's words of wisdom, "You Have a Choice and a Chance," will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

He is survived by his parents, Glorious Wallace and Charles Hayer Sr., his sisters Yulanda Wallace, Tajah Hayer, CC Brown, his brother Danielle (Mace) Douglas, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Charles's life will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Open Arms International Ministries, 1601 Park Street, Syracuse, New York 13208.
