Obituary of Juanita S. Taylor

On March 4, 2024, Juanita Taylor, 77, of Baldwinsville, N.Y., entered into eternal rest.  She grew up In Enterprise, FL with Mrs. Minnie Fields (Grandmother) and had an uncle (Mr. Reuben Muldrow) of Syracuse, N.Y. as a father’s role model.  She graduated from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master’s Degree Education from Syracuse University.  Juanita was a Home Economics teacher for the Syracuse City School District and retired 31 years of service.  Following retirement, she returned to the district to be teacher of the A.S.P. at Grant Middle School, and a substitute teacher for an additional 7 years, giving her a total of 38 years in education.  During her career, she worked on numerous committees.  She was a member of the New York State United Teachers Association, American Federation Teachers Association, the New York United Teachers Retiree of Central New York, the Alliance for Retired Americans, and the Syracuse Teachers Association. She enjoyed reading, traveling, sewing, crafts, singing, music, and being with family and friends.  She was pre-deceased in death by her son, mother, father, step-mother of Sanford, FL, step-parents of Auburn, N.Y., maternal and paternal grandparents, Mrs. Minnie Fields, Mr. Reuben Muldrow, her brother, Samuel Jackson; and former husbands LasLee Taylor and Jimmy Anderson.

 

Juanita is survived by her daughter Coretta M. Anderson of Santa Monica, CA; two step-daughters, Pamela Taylor and Debra Taylor of New York City; two step-sons, LasLee Taylor Jr. and Torell Taylor of Syracuse, N.Y.; two step-grand-daughters, Imani Taylor and Ayanna Taylor of New York City; FL.; three sisters: Helen Harris of Syracuse, N.Y.; Luvern Tillman of Sanford, FL.; W. Denise Jackson-Debrew (Lynwood) of Lake Mary, FL.; five brothers: Abner Jackson Jr. (Marilyn) of Sanford, FL.; Gregory Jackson of Sanford, FL.;  William Muldrow of Auburn, N.Y.; Brian Muldrow (Bernice) of Auburn, N.Y. and Reginald Bynum of Oakland, CA; and her dearest friends, Vickie and Ronald Copeland or Alameda, CA. Aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive Juanita.

 

She was a past member of Saint Anthony of Padua Parish, Syracuse, N.Y. and Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

 

Juanita Taylor was an organ donor. As she wished, there will be no calling hours or services.
