Obituary of Bill D. Conway

Bill D. Conway Jr. a loving husband, father, grandfather and a outstanding taxi driver, passed away on September 6, 2023.

Bill was born on September 23, 1947 on the Tuscarora Reservation to his beautiful parents (father) Earl David Burning and (Mother) Gloria Maracle Conway. Bill lived everyday with great meaning and determination, he had much pride for life. He started off his life as a shoe shine boy and he enjoyed and had fun in his childhood. He has had several jobs as an adult but found his passion in being a taxi driver for 40 years. As he drove, he listened to Elvis Presely and several other country artists. 

He leaves to cherish his memories to his loving wife Katherine Carol Conway of Syracuse, NY, daughters Norma Jean Smith of Buffalo, NY, Lana Jean Capria, Madeline Mona Conway, Patricia (Charles) Hickey, Stacey (Chris) Robinson, and step-daughter Donna Jean Snyder, predeceased Amanda Lathrop; Sons Bill David Conway III, Justin Wayne Conway, Step-sons John Snyder, Eugene Snyder, and several grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Siblings of Bill, sisters Kathleen G, Rodriguez of Buffalo, Rose (Jack) Koch of Emerson, GA. Yolanda (Ralph) Mecklenburg of Niagara Falls, NY, Mary Patricia (Tony) Conception of Philidelphia, PA, Carol A. Conway of  Brampton Ontario, Canada, Mary Kay (Charlie) Willis of Dayton, Ohio. Brothers Daniel T. Conway of New Charlisle, Ohio, Earl D. (Wendy) Burning of Lewiston, NY.

Predeceased in death by brothers, Elwood W. Conway and Leslie E. Conway.

Calling Hours will be Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 11-12PM at A. Dewitt Memorial Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina St., Syracuse, NY 13205.  Services will begin at 12 Noon.
