Obituary of Evelyn Johnson

Evelyn Johnson September 14, 1933 - January 27, 2012 Evelyn Johnson 78, of Syracuse, New York, departed this life peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, January 27, 2012 at home. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Frances and Frank Pearson; two brothers, Frank Jr. and Enouch Pearson; three sisters, Rainy Seward, Stary Belle Frazier and Hazel Dukes. Evelyn was formerly employed with the Home Health Aides of Central New York and the County of Onondaga Van Duyn Nursing Home for many years. She is survived by five daughters; Patricia Blunt, Roxanne and Kenyada Johnson, Darlene Fowler (Frank) all of Syracuse, New York and Amy Johnson of Deer Park, New York; two sons, Jerome Pearson and Keith Johnson both of Syracuse, New York; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; one aunt, Lila Madison of Baltimore, Maryland; several nieces, nephews and cousins, her best friend, Jean Boatwright; and a host of loving friends including her Bellegrove Missionary Baptist Church family. Calling hours will be held Friday, February 3, 2012, 10 a.m. to noon at Bellegrove Missionary Baptist Church, 219 W. Castle Street, Syracuse, New York 13205 with a funeral service to immediately follow in the church at noon. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, 940 Comstock Avenue, Syracuse, New York 13210.
