Obituary of Willard W. Thomas

Willard W. Thomas, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2014 while wintering in Davenport, Florida. Born in Syracuse, NY on December 6, 1928, Willard was a retired engineer for General Electric. Willard honorably served his country in the United States Navy and is a graduate of Syracuse University. He was a member of the Solvay Tigers, the Lions Club and a Trustee for the Village of Solvay where he lived for 24 years. Willard is survived by his daughters, Leslie A. (James) Taylor of Hastings, NY; Sheila S. Thomas of Fort Mill, SC; sons, Leon J. Thomas of Albuquerque, NM; Willard S. (Jane) Thomas of Sand Springs, OK; Lee J. (Suzanne) Thomas of North Syracuse, NY; 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Helen Elizabeth. A Memorial Service for friends and family is planned for the spring of 2015.
