Obituary of Dr. David L. Tanyhill

Rev. Dr. David L. Tanyhill Jr., age 63, was called from labor to reward on Sunday January 31, 2016 at Upstate University Hospital, Syracuse, N.Y. He was the Sr. Pastor of the Bellegrove Missionary Baptist Church of Syracuse. He was born on September 17, 1952 in Williamson, W.V. to the union of Deacon David Sr. and Ruth Tanyhill. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, and now leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife and high school sweetheart, Evangelist Laura, his two sons, David III (Melissa) and Pastor Derrick (Nolita), eight grandchildren; Tiarah, Khalil, Taylor, Lydia, Anastasia, David IV, Derrick Jr., and Kiala; two sisters; Brenda (Curtis) Thomas and Bobbi (George) Hannah, one brother; Eric (Holly) Tanyhill, a host of nieces, nephews, friends, loved ones, and his Bellegrove Church family Services will be at the Bellegrove Missionary Baptist Church, 219 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. W. (formerly W. Castle St.) as follows: Sunday February 7, 2016, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Viewing/Memorial Service) and Monday February 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. (Home Going Service). Burial will commence at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
