Obituary of William G. Burgess

William G. Burgess May 22, 2014 William "Bill" Burgess, 56, of Syracuse, passed away at home on Thursday, May 22, 2014. He is finally reunited with his parents, Norman and Kathleen Burgess. Bill was also predeceased by his two brothers, James M. Burgess and John F. Burgess. Bill loved to be on the go and loved his many outings with his fellow group home friends. Bill is survived by his sisters, Linda (Tom) LaRose and Denise Burgess; brothers, Mark (Christine) Burgess, Joseph Burgess, Richard (Pamela) Burgess and Robert (Michelle) Burgess; sister-in-law, Barbara Burgess; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Bill's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the staff at the CNYDSO Elgin and Southfield group homes, as well as the staff at the Fair Lakes day habilitation program. Bill was fortunate to have such wonderful caregivers. Their compassion and caring meant a lot to Bill, which provided him with a life he came to enjoy. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2014, 1 p.m. at A. Dewitt Memorial Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 4612 S. Salina St., Syracuse. Private burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
