Obituary of Yvonne Hairston

Yvonne Hairston was the daughter of the late Mr. Jones W. Thornton (father) and the late Mrs. Lillian H. (Brown) Thornton (mother). Yvonne Hairston was born on October 6, 10933 in Danville, Virginia. She departed this earthly life on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. In 1955, Yvonne graduated high school from her hometown of Danville, Virginia. Yvonne held jobs such as housekeeping and waitressing, however, her main job was being a mom. She enjoyed music and singing; she was really fond of the singer Jackie Wilson. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching game shows, such as the Price is Right and Let's Make a Deal. She enjoyed wrestling. Her favorite wrestler was the "Rock," but mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family. She leaves to cherish her memories four siblings; sisters, Annie, Deborah and Brenda; brother, Larry. She is preceded in death by three siblings; Bobby, Paulette and Billie. She was a mother of six children, Theresa, Alveno, Charles, Lisa, Fayette, and Cedric; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
