Obituary of Dorothy M. Fingado

Dorothy M. Fingado, 94, ended her long and fulfilling life's journey in Syracuse, New York on Saturday, April 18, 2015. Dorothy was born on May 23, 1920 in Natick, Massachusetts to Florence and Maurice Temple. She received her B.A. from Framingham State Teachers College and then went on to become a Registered Dietician. While serving as a dietician during WW II at an army hospital, she met Raymond C. Fingado, whom she married in 1944. They moved to Staten Island, where she raised her three children, taught home economics in the public school system, and was active as a volunteer in various organizations, in particular the Women's Auxiliary of Historic Richmond Town. In 2001, she moved to Fayetteville, NY to live with her daughter. She is survived by her daughters Lauren (Shawky) Badawy of Fayetteville, NY and Gail (Kenny) Brawner of Manhattan and her son Conrad (Margot) of Pleasant Valley, NY. She also has seven grandsons: Rami (Margo) Badawy, Tarek (Laura) Badawy, Shareef Badawy, Zaki (Erin) Badawy, Haley Brawner, Daniel Brawner, and Tysen Fingado. Her five great grandchildren are Neisah, Leila, Hannah, Leah and Noah. The family wishes to thank PACE CNY and the kind and caring aides at Highland House.
