Archie Allen & Elaine Manrow Westmiller posted a condolence

Melanie & Chris: I (Elaine) somewhat grew up with Larry.  My grandparents took him in and practically raised him.  My grandmother, Nellie Manrow, worked at a factory in Auburn for a short time.  She got to know Larry's mother who worked there also at the time.  His mother asked her to take Larry.  As a result she ended up raising him.  He was about 9 years older that I.   One day after it had been snowing the bus could not make it up Manrow Road.  The roads were not plowed very well at that time.  Larry carried me up Manrow Road to my home.  Larry remembered doing that when I talked to him a few years ago.  Also, I remember him walking through the halls at school.  I don't know if he saw me. Larry played on the basketball team at Weedsport Central School.  At the same time Archie Allen's brother Jim played on the basketball team at Genoa Central School.  They were about the same age and knew each other.  Genoa and Weedsport played against each other. There are a lot of memories.  It would be nice to see you, Melanie again someday. Allen & Elaine

Larry was my father's (Ralph Burbank) roommate for 3 years @ the Crossings.  since my Dad died in 2006, I have been volunteering @ the Crossings and have seen Larry almost every month sometimes twice a month.  Sometimes he came to Rosary with my group once a month and always came to our Sunday Catholic services.  He always recognized me and we often talked.  One day, years ago, you brought your little boy in to visit when my Dad was his roommate and your son was just a cute toddler.  Some things you never forget and I will never your Dad - we had many conversations.  God bless your family and Larry is with the Lord now, in no pain and very happy!  So happy for him.

Chris and Melanie, my sincerest sympathy to you both.  We have never met but I am your father's 1st cousin which makes us second cousins. Little Larry, the name by which I have always known your dad, and I have the same grandparents, Roy Dayton and Ada K. Williams. Being 15 years younger than Larry as a boy I always looked up to him and remember our grandparents frequently calling me Little Larry by mistake. Please reach out to me if you would ever like to know more about your Williams heritage.
