Obituary of Jane A. Hopkins

Jane A. Hopkins, 94, died at home with her loving family at her side. She was born April 25, 1919 in Steubenville, Ohio. She married her husband, Ross, December 7, 1940 and they were married 69 years until Ross passed away July 29, 2010. Survivors include three sons, Ross (Jill), Gerald (Kathy), Brian (Stacy) and one daughter, Martha Stewart; plus grandchildren, Matthew, Lisa, Brett, Sandor, Spencer, Heather, Jason and Kelly; six great-grandchildren and two brothers, Robert and Douglas Applegate. She was passionate about donating her time to many charitable organizations. She was a wonderful person with a generous heart spending a lot of her time baking and cooking for family and friends. She got her wish to live out her last days at home with her daughter and granddaughter, Heather, providing around the clock care in her final years. She is now joining her husband in eternity. A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 28, 2013, 9 a.m. at A. Dewitt Memorial Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York 13205.
