Obituary of Martha Lavine

Martha (Shuffler) Lavine, 71, of DeWitt, NY, died Sunday, March 1, 2015. A native of Syracuse, NY, Martha graduated from Nottingham HS. She trained as a lab technician and histologist at the VA Hospital and then later worked at Community General Hospital. Martha left her career to fulfill her wishes to be a full time wife, mother, and caregiver. She was a member of Temple Adath but spent most of her years as a member of the former Temple Beth El. Martha is survived by her sister, Maxene Shuffler Block; her husband, Robert; her four children and their spouses, Michael (Andrea), Jerry (Faith), Scott (Karen), and Carolyn (Bill) Scott. Martha's greatest love and pride were her children and 10 grandchildren. A calling hour will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2015 from 11 a.m. to noon at Ginsburg - Maloff Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, NY 13205 with a funeral service to follow at noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Temple Beth El Cemetery, Rabbi Shore officiating. Funeral services entrusted to Ginsburg-Maloff Funeral Home serving the Central New York Jewish community whose needs have changed but values have not.
