Obituary of Russell Danford Hayes

Russell Danford Hayes June 11, 1935 - February 5, 2013 Russell Danford Hayes, 77, of Syracuse, NY passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2013. He is survived by one son, Aurther Hayes; and three daughters, Dierdre (George) Martz, Lisa Detlor, Charla (Allen) Whitmarsh; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he loved every single one of them! He is predeceased by one daughter, Rhonda; one brother, Allen Hayes; two sisters, Doris Vromen, and Roberta Barrington. Russell was very good at crossword puzzles, and he loved to travel, especially to visit friends in Arizona. He served his country in the United States Air Force, and later drove a school bus for Peace, Inc. of Syracuse, NY. Russell was a kind, and loving man who will be greatly missed. Calling hours will be on Sunday, February 10, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m., at A. Dewitt Memorial Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, NY 13205. A funeral service will follow immediately.
