Obituary of Roy N. Steckiewicz

Roy N. Steckiewicz December 20, 1924 - July 25, 2012 Roy N. Steckiewicz, 87, of Fayetteville, New York passed away on July 25th, 2012 at the Syracuse VA Medical Center, after a long illness. Roy was born on Dec. 20, 1924 in Syracuse to the late Walter & Stella Iwanski-Steckiewicz. He lived in the Sacred Heart Parish Polish neighborhood until enlisting in the US Navy in 1942. He proudly served aboard a Destroyer Escort during WW II. Roy was a lifetime member of the Teamsters Union Local 317, retiring in 1976. He drove "Big Rigs" for B&H Transportation delivering to all Central New York A&P stores. Roy was predeceased by his son, Roy W. who passed away on July 30, 2002; brothers Henry, Leonard, Walter, Eugene and sisters, Stella Woodman & Regina S. Roy is survived by Alice Bobreski Steckiewicz, his former wife and lifelong "Best Friend" and several nieces & nephews; also, his personal healthcare providers, Ken & Marie Woodman & Wendy Wilson At Roy's request, there will be no calling hours or services. He will be interred next to his son Roy at the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Howlett Hill Road. Arrangements are being handled by A. Dewitt Memorial Funeral Home.
