Obituary of Christopher M. Groover

Christopher M. Groover, Sr., 49 years young, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday September 21, 2021. Christopher, also known as “Pooey” was raised in Syracuse, NY, born on February 19th, 1972, and predeceased by his parents, the late Roberta Robles and the late John Groover Sr., both from Syracuse, NY. He attended Syracuse City Schools and after graduating, he dedicated 20 years of hard work at Rent A Center and, most recently, 5 years at Blue Star Transportation. He was a visionary with keen spirituality and continuously seeked and engaged in activities to keep his Chakras open and in alignment. He was a member of the ULC Monastery and acknowledged as a certified and credentialed ordained Minister.

He is survived by his spouse, Trina Groover; children: Christopher Groover Jr., DeQuan Groover, Maurice Groover, NaTesha Groover and Tilden “Jamal” McCullough Groover; 6 beautiful grandchildren; sisters: Jacqueline (Chris) McMullen, Michelle Clark, Shelyta Davis, Angela Groover-Carter, Kathy Groover, Regina Bennett and Wendy Adams; and brothers: John Groover Jr., Calvin Groover and Elliott Groover; along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Services to be held on September 28th, 2021 at Shield of Faith Ministries, 615 Richmond Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13204. Calling hours will be 10am-12pm with funeral services immediately following. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Services entrusted to A. Dewitt Memorial Funeral Home; Jan Maloff, Funeral Director.
