Obituary of Judah P. Currie, Jr.
Judah P. Currie Jr., aka Jude or Sonny of Williamstown, New York passed away May 31, 2021 at home following a brief illness at the age of 83. Born April 14, 1938, the son of the late Judah P. and Irene (Lasda) Currie of Tully, NY. Following his graduation in 1957 from Tully Central School, Jude joined the U.S. Coast Guard and served four years. Jude was employed by Tully Central School as a bus mechanic and driver, the Ford Motor Company in N.J, followed by 25 years at Saulsbury Fire and Rescue, and the Preble Milk Coop. Jude was a member of the Preble Fire Department and scoutmaster for the Preble BSA, FFA and Masonic Lodge in Tully, the American Legion, Old Forge, N.Y. Oswego County Trappers and Horseshoe Lake Hunting Club, Piercefield, N.Y. Jude enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, trapping, snowmobiling and especially spending time with his friends and family. Jude is survived by: his lifelong partner of 35 years, Judith McQueen of Williamstown, NY; children, Judah “Jay" (Ann), Charles (Shelley), Michael (Becky), Michael, Rick (Emily), Jennifer (Dave), Cynthia McQueen (James) Wilczak, George McQueen; sister, Helen (Homer) Hogle; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; nephews; nieces; and cousins. He is predeceased by six siblings. In lieu of flowers, consider memorial donations in Jude’s name to: Oswego County Hospice, 70 Bunner Street, Oswego NY 13126. A graveside service will be held with family on Saturday, June 12th at 10AM at the Elmwood Cemetery, Preble, NY.
