Obituary of Alton Laverne Bostic

Alton Laverne Bostic, 60, of Syracuse went to be with the Lord on the April 27, 2021, due to a struggle with cancer..  Alton was born on June 19, 1960 to loving parents, Douglas Bostic and Cleretha Eddy in Loris, South Carolina.  He was a warm hearted, kind man who would do about anything for someone in need. A man who cared deeply about his family and friends. He worked hard for many years at evrything he did. A man who enjoyed his life, willing to learn new things, and his sayings that kept everyone with a smile; like, “you can’t be serious, do the math, and talk to me, I talk back.” Alton was predeased by his parents; brothers, Joseph, David, Michael, Avery, James and Douglas Bostic; and a sister, Ophelia Sharp. 

 He leaves behind his wife of 18 years; CatherineBostic, 4 children; Denise Shaunta, Kendra Joy Bostic, Allen Michael Jewitt and Braxton Bostic, Jerrold Williams; 7 grand children, Tatianna, Nathaniel, Jay’Vion, U’niyiah, Mar’Quell and AllenMichael Jr.; Sisters, Annie (Edward)  Jones, Inamae (Chris) Wilder and Betty (Robert) Goodman; brother, Roy, William and Aaron Bostic; many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He will be missed dearly by friends and family, that loves him also. 

Calling hours be held Thursday May 6th from 10 AM to 12 PM at A. Dewitt Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina St., Syracuse, NY. A funeral service will follow immediatley at 12 PM. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Syracuse.
