Obituary of Emma Rita Massara

Emma Rita Massara, daughter of the late James Vincent and Maria (Paduano) Massara, has quietly gone to her heavenly home. She retired from General Electric and was a member of the Electronettes. She was gifted with a beautiful soprano voice and graduated with honors from the Syracuse Conservatory of Music as a Voice Major, sang major roles in operatic performances professionally in New York City, Utica, Rochester and Syracuse. She also sang in the choir of St. Vincent de Paul Church. She was pre-deceased by sisters, Lena Breezee and Anna Massara; brothers, Joseph (Kate), Anthony (Connie), Michael, Philip (Angie) and Vincent. Survivors included sisters, Mary Jane (Jennie) DiFabbio and Adeline Cousins; sisters-in-law, Lena Massara and Roberta Massara; special nieces, Donna Ruth and Mary Leeson; cousin, Madeline Modafferi, and many nephews, nieces and their families. There are no calling hours; services are private. A memorial mass will be held at a future date. Donations are appreciated to St. Vincent de Paul Church, 342 Vine St., Syracuse, NY 13203 or the Loretto Foundation, 700 E. Brighton Ave., Syracuse NY 13205.
