Obituary of Bruce L. Burton

Bruce L Burton, of Syracuse, NY and formerly of Scranton, PA died Friday afternoon at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Syracuse after a long illness. His wife Dorothy died in 2003. He was born in Syracuse and was the son of the late Bernadine LaMontage and Wilfred Burton. He moved his family to several regions along the east coast before settling in Scranton, PA 35 years ago. Before retirement, he worked as a window cleaner and did several other odd jobs. He was a wonderful father, husband, brother, son, uncle, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by three brothers, William, Danny and Ronnie all of New York; four sons, Bruce of Florida, John and Wilfred of New York and Joseph of Pennsylvania; five daughters, Terri and Jackeline of New York, Bernadine of Dunmore, Michelle and Melinda of Scranton; 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Eddie, Beverly and Linda; and two children, William and Caroline. There will be no calling hours. Cremation took place in Syracuse, NY. A private memorial service was held for the family and arrangements made by A. Dewitt Memorial Funeral Homes & Cremation Services in Syracuse, NY.
