Obituary of Carmen Joseph Nappa

Carmen Joseph Nappa May 4, 1927 - July 16, 2012 Carmen Joseph Nappa, 85, of Liverpool, passed away Monday in Port St. Lucie, FL, with his family by his side. Born May 4, 1927 in Syracuse, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lena Adamo Nappa and the late Dominic Bizzarro, his stepfather. He was a graduate of Liverpool High School and was a US Navy veteran of WW II. Mr. Nappa was employed as the head mechanic/foreman at Assumption Cemetery in Syracuse and was also the Chief Range Firearms Instructor and Lieutenant for the Onondaga County Special Deputy Sheriffs Department. Surviving are two daughters, Karen (Joe) Rotella of Port St. Lucie, FL and Helen Feyh of Hastings; two sisters, Mary Williams of Woodbridge, VA and Nancy Thoryk of Syracuse; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his, Dorothy T. Schultz Nappa; and two sisters, Rose LaGrange and Janet Piper. Services will be Friday at 9:00 am from A. Dewitt Memorial Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 4612 S. Salina St., Syracuse. Calling hours are Thursday 6-8 pm. Interment will be in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Donations in his memory made be made to the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
