Obituary of Richard J. Adam

Richard J. Adam July 2, 1933 - May 22, 2012 Richard J. Adam of Lake Placid, FL died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the Veteran's Administrative Hospital in Syracuse, NY after a valiant battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing. Born in Pine Mill, PA, July 2,1933 to Leonor and Albert Adam, Richard graduated from Delaware Valley Central School, served in the US Army Security Agency and received his college degree at Morrisville State University. He went on to serve the New York Telephone Company for over 30 years. Richard and Mary Louise celebrated 50 happy years of marriage before her passing in 2008. Richard is survived by his children: John (and his wife Sharyn), Paul (and his wife Cynthia), Jane, Kurt and Nora (and her husband John Bartholomew). Ten grandchildren: Damien, Brandon, Brian, Katie, Nathan, Andrea, Mandy, Lauren, Thomas and Ryan and three great-grandchildren. Richard spent his early years in Callicoon, NY and then moved to Fair Haven, NY. He retired with his wife in Lake Placid, FL. Richard had many hobbies in his life and he excelled in all of them. He held a pilot's license and especially loved to fly. He will be missed by his family and friends. A summertime memorial service is being planned by family members.
