Obituary of Harry Levering

Harry Levering of Syracuse, NY passed away on February 16, 2021.  After a life of love, laughter and friendship, our larger-than-life friend’s heart was no longer strong enough.  He was a very caring human being who has left a lasting imprint on his many friends and family.  An avid reader and conversationalist, he loved to engage anyone who passed by.  He held court on his front porch, discussing music, literature, politics and a good joke thrown in.  He took delight in teasing all living creatures and his infectious laugh could be heard miles away.  He was a compassionate and thoughtful writer whose prose moved many.  He cared deeply about the environment and appreciated the beauty of nature.  To honor the music aficionado that he was, a quote from a favorite, “Spirits are using me, larger voices calling.  What heaven brought you and me cannot be forgotten.”  You will not be forgotten.  We all raise our hands because we will miss him!

Laugh on Harry.

A celebration of life will be held in Harry’s honor:
