Obituary of Robert John Robinson

Robert John Robinson, 66, of Kirkwood, NY, passed away peacefully as a result of complications from an infection, on May 26, 2020 at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY.

Bob (who also went by RJ) was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming and lived in many places, including Green River, WY, Sidney, NE, North Platte, NE, Dallas, Tx, Brazil, Chicago, IL, Minneapolis, MN, Raleigh NC, St. Louis, MO and Tokyo, Japan. He attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln for a year and was a huge Huskers fan. He then transferred to the University of Dallas, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Phenomenological Psychology while attending the seminary there, and a Master of Science in Industrial Management.

He retired as a Vice President of Marketing for a company that manufactured silicon for computer chips, and enjoyed his many trips overseas during his career. Those travels took him to South Korea, France, Italy, China, Taiwan, Japan, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Russia. Two of his favorite memories were going to the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow and getting to see the Bayeux Tapestry in Bayeux, France.

Bob had a wonderful sense of humor, and was always smiling, even in the face of adversity. He soaked up knowledge like a sponge and knew all kinds of information about varied topics: from guitars to sumo wrestling, to politics, to shooting trap and skeet, to football and golf, to religion, and many others.

He was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Stella (Clouatre) Robinson. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Susan (Bundas) Robinson, his mother-in-law, Sally (Lidaka) Bundas, and his close cousins Robert (Natalia) Andersen and Craig (Joan) Andersen, several other cousins and their families, many friends, and his fur-baby, Lucy.

A private burial mass was said with family. No memorial events are currently planned.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Binghamton, NY Humane Society, the Binghamton Ross Park Zoo, or Catholic Charities.
