Obituary of Robert Maynard

Robert (Bob) L. Maynard, 85 entered God’s closer presence Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018. He was a retired programmer/analyst and graduated from Albany High School (1951) and Syracuse University (1963).  He was pre-deceased by his wife (Diane, 2010) and daughter (Christine, 1968).  Bob was born in Albany, N.Y. Dec. 31, 1932, the son of Leo and Jessie Maynard.  He served his parish as chorister, vestry person, warden, lay reader, and physical worker.

    Bob is survived by a son Robert (Mary) and daughter Karen Maynard Havens (William), 3 siblings, Richard (Pamela), Peter (JoAnn), and Anne Maynard Bowman, 3 grandchildren (Sheila Maynard Shriver (William), Rebecca and Daniel Maynard), 3 great grandchildren Benjamin, Gabriel, and Nathaniel Shriver, 3 step-grandchildren Matti (Paulina), Oscar (Elisa), and Timo (Courtney) Havens, several cousins, nephews and nieces, and his church family.

     A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, Dec. 15th at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 1308 Meadowbrook Drive, Syracuse, NY.  There will be a reception for family and friends at the church hall following the service.

   In place of flowers, please make donations to St. Alban’s Episcopal Church or your favorite charitable organization.
